CASE BRIEF & WORK

LYF Foods is a subsidiary of Living Yield Farms, which was born out of a passion of the Founder, Mr Abraham Dosunmu, to establish a one-stop-shop for all things food. Our client founded Living Yield Farms in Fiditi, Oyo state, Nigeria, after about 14 years of careful planning and implementation because of his passion to provide Nigerians with quality food always. However, for the sake of convenience as not many will be able to visit the farm directly to get food items, he decided to establish a retail store for the sale of the farm produce and food items from other trusted partners. The outlet is, however, meant to cater to both offline and online customers and that’s where we came in.

The Task at Hand

Our client approached us to create a corporate website for Living Yields Farm in July while the team was observing the work-from-home policy due to COVID-19. Despite this hurdle, we were able to take advantage of technology to hold meetings in-house and with the client to understand what he wanted. He, initially, wanted us to establish an informational website to create awareness for his farm. However, towards the tail end of the project in October, it was decided that it would be more expedient to create a separate website for LYF Foods while Living Yield Farm’s website retains the informational aspect. So, the team was expected to create an e-commerce website for the client to showcase all the products sold in the retail store; which consist of their farm produce and other food items from trusted partners.

How We Helped

After it was agreed that an e-commerce website is the best way to go for LYF Foods, our team got to work. The Web Developer designed the website using a WordPress Content Management System template, CSS, HTML, some WordPress editors like Elementor and WP Bakery, WordPress Plugins like Woocommerce to create an online store, Paystack Woocommerce Payment Gate for the payment platform and SG Optimiser for image optimiser and to increase the site-load time. We had several visits to the farm and the shop to take quality images for the products page on the website and the social media platforms. Our Copywriters created web copies for all the pages including the About Us page, Privacy Policy, Contact page, FAQ, and a newsletter section amongst others.

The major features of the website are the usual webpages, the e-commerce platform and the payment gateway. Buyers can browse through the website to see all the products highlighted under different categories for ease and convenience. They can add desired products to cart and proceed to checkout, which will automatically register them on the website, and make payments. Users can also decide to register directly before proceeding to make a purchase.
